The Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards have once again brought laughter and awe to the animal kingdom, showcasing the hilarious antics of our furry and feathered friends. This year's competition was a riot, with entries from all over the world, each more amusing than the last. From baffled birds to dancing gorillas, the awards celebrate the lighter side of nature, proving that even the most serious creatures can have a funny bone. Among the many hilarious entries, Alison Tuck's perfectly-timed snap of a gannet with grass over its head, titled “Now, where’s my nest?” took the top spot in the People's Choice Vote. This image, captured while on a school trip to Bempton Cliffs, showcases the gannet's confusion as it collects grass for a nest in windy conditions. Alison's photo not only won the hearts of the public but also earned her a Highly Commended award in the overall competition. The overall winner, Mark Meth Cohn's snap of a gorilla seemingly doing the Kong-a thorough the Virunga Mountains, in East Africa, was a close contender. Warren Price's capture of fowl play between two guillemots landed him the winning picture in the bird category, while Grayson Bell's snap of un-hoppy frogs won the reptiles, amphibians, and insect category. Jenny Stock's fish bass-king in the coral won the fish and aquatic species award. The Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards remind us that humor can be found even in the most unexpected places, and that nature's comedy is a universal language that brings people together. So, the next time you're out in the wild, keep an eye out for the funny side of animal behavior. Who knows what hilarious antics you might witness!
